We have a class for everyone
I have worked as a maths, English and 11 plus tutor in the area for many years. One of the joys of my job is seeing children develop and achieve their potential. Whether that be moving up a table at school, passing the 11 plus exam or obtaining an A* in their GSCE. The class is suitable for children of all ages and abilities. Each child receives a specially designed programme of work to cover their strengths and weaknesses, balancing their weekly workload with family life.
You don’t need to live near a physical class to benefit from Satchel. We currently support children from across the UK — and even overseas — with Maths, English, 11 Plus preparation, SATs, and GCSEs through a combination of individualised work posted to their home and our expert online tuition.
If you have any questions or would like to learn more, please get in touch — we’re happy to help!
Every child begins their Satchel journey with a Starting Satchel assessment. This helps us understand your child’s current level and identify the best starting point for their personalised learning programme.
The assessment is usually completed at home and followed by a one-to-one Zoom meeting with their tutor. During this session, the tutor will clarify your child’s understanding of the assessment and may also check their mental maths skills or reading level. After the session, the tutor will have a chat with you to discuss your child’s strengths and areas for development, and together you will agree on a tailored programme of work.

Satchel materials are usually posted out every two weeks. The work is based on your child’s initial assessment, ongoing observations from the weekly Zoom sessions, and — most importantly — the feedback you provide on their progress.
Each set of work comes with a copy of your child’s record card. You should use this to track which booklets you’ve received and provide feedback to the tutor about how your child is managing the work. This allows us to fine-tune the programme and make sure your child is progressing at the right pace.
